Hello Newgrounds, I hope everyone is having an alright Monday. I know Mondays are not everyone's cup of tea, especially if you're an orange cat that eats lasagna. To start with a fun and light-hearted story. My mother and I came to see Gabriel Iglesias, best known as Fluffy. We had a really fun time; there were moments of laughter, and then there were heart-to-heart moments. One thing that really inspired me was what Fluffy said: "There are no excuses. Start your day one."
In the show, Fluffy was sharing his trials and tribulations during his career as a comedian with us, the audience. This type of interaction with the fans left me awestruck because you don't see many celebrities interact with their fans as if they were your own family that you share your grievances with. Most celebrities, especially when they do meet and greets. They just give you a couple of minutes of their time, and then you walk off. For a long time fan of his, in a way, he does feel like a family member that you don't know much about, but you still have fond memories with. That analogy may sound parasocial, but is it really parasocial if said celebrity you look up to shares his emotional moments on a stage with lots of people in the audience?
Anyway, my mother and I enjoyed our time. Martin, Fluffy's buddy, was a great emcee. He said some words about young people like me, and he shouted out to the metalheads when Enter Sandman by Metallica was playing as an intro song for Fluffy, which a couple of bearded guys and I cheered (I might not look alternative to most people until I look "alt" for family members and friends to believe me). The guest comedian who opened for Fluffy, Matt Golightly, also did a fantastic job.
